It hasn’t been all high fives when running AcuDENT- Paintless Dent Repair. It was hard being heckled by my world-class dent technician buddies for staying home and not being out on the hail trail. It’s been hard to bite my tongue doing wholesale work for pennies. It’s been hard to be told I wouldn’t succeed. It’s been hard to hear people tell me that my quality must go down, and I need to lower my prices so I can make a living. It’s been hard watching greed consume my friends and customers. But today, today is the day that the final piece of the puzzle I’ve been working on for 12 years.
We’re moving the office into the brand new, state of the art facility, built from sweat and tears. It was built on California standards for codes of efficiency, which are the highest in the country. There is R-30 insulation in the roof, 1” thick insulation and tempered glass windows, the exterior lights were replaced with low voltage LED lighting, and the HVAC runs with a 96% efficiency. I wanted the building to reflect the theme of paintless dent repair of being environmentally conscious.
For the ones along the way that have helped, thank you so much. To the ones that tried to hold us back, thank you more for driving me harder!
There are many feelings going through my head. Do we need this nice of a building? Can we afford it? Will it come off as arrogance, not confidence. Time will tell but if we do fail, I can’t say it’s because we didn’t try. I’m very lucky to have my team of the best guys and gals in the world pushing every day to make this thing succeed, and I hope it only goes up from here. There’s been some lows that I’d never want to test again, but it made me and my team stronger. In the end of the day, I know that everything is going to be okay regardless.
